Well-Aged Twizzlers
About a year ago, I made an impulse purchase: a huge tub of Twizzlers. I am not sure what I thought I would do with so many of them, but I bought it anyways. I am not a big candy eater, so I gave them to all of my guests. Unfortunately, the total quantity in the tub hasn't diminished much. The other thing was that they were really fresh when I purchased them. Which normally is a good quality in food. But Twizzlers that are fresh have the texture more of a gummy bear. They just didn't taste that good to me. Well, a year has passed and I was having a sugar craving. I reach for the tub expecting my sugar needs to be met, but predict a sense of overall disappointment. To my surprise, the Twizzler was perfect. Finally, after a year of aging, they were the correct texture and consistency. Just like a bottle red, Twizzlers to get better with age.
