The Importance of Reading the Directions

I had an epic end user fail tonight.  In an effort to create a brand of myself, I decided that all my web presences needed to have the same name.  I was cybelledesign, miche, and lauermichelle.  All of those names make it too difficult to recognize me on different sites.  I chose "miche" to represent me.  Cybelle Design will become developedbymiche.com and lastly, I needed to change my twitter account.

Like anyone who didn't read the instructions, I created a new account.  I then proceeeded to spam all of my followers with "follow me at my new address".  As people so kindly jumped on the band wagon, I unfollowed them from my old account.

And then it dawned on me.  Read the directions.  I didnt' have to create a new account and migrate people and lose my data and reset up TweetDeck.  I can just change my username and all my followers/followees stay the same.  Oy!  Actually, I beleive that I tweeted "golly gee darn it!!!".

#fail

By now, I am sure I have annoyed everyone.  If you were one of them, I am sorry.  But, if you aren't already, please follow me @bymiche.
