HTML 5

I haven't done much research on HTML 5 as I am proponent of XHTML. Regardless, this is funny: HTML 5

It's Been A While...

It has been so long that my virtual plants have died. I wonder if they can be resuscitated? Anyway, my energies have been focused on learning Drupal. It is quite powerful and I am really enjoying learning it. More to come soon...

Go Web 2.0

A fellow Kaboodler posed the question: "What would your 3 favorite web 2.0 sites be?

What's In A Link?

A new web designer posed the question: "They have a page that lists local attractions in the area as they are near a few parks and campgrounds. I linked the attractions' websites on the page. I was wondering if you knew if there are any laws about having links to other sites on your site."

Get It From The Source

My favorite techie just informed me of a successful small business. After a life rubbing elbows in high-rise offices across the globe, this woman has reinvented her career and found her inner entrepreneur. Good for us, she has a blog that shares her experiences and endeavors.

The Student

I have stumbled across some articles regarding pro-bono work. The authors are quite jaded at times. My thoughts are that many new designers/developers do want some small projects to add to their portfolio. And often they are willing to do these sites at a reduced rate. But there should be a rate, whether it is cash, trade of services, a pizza or a bottle of wine. Creating a successful website takes time and a designer/developer should be compensated for such. I think the most important thing is to outline expectations in the beginning.

What It's Really Like

I find this pie chart quite humorous. I am not sure that the average consumer is truly aware of the trials and tribulations. Websites need to work in multiple versions of multiple browsers... What It’s Really Like

So, You Want To Start A Business

Congratulations on starting a business!

I have so many thoughts that I want to share with you; I am just going to list them. You might have already considered these, but I wish that I had a list like this when I started.
